Originally built in 1946, the Lee Theatre closed in mid-70’s and was purchased by the Town in 2000. Now completely restored, including original lobby terazzo floors, The Lee now serves as an entertainment hub in the Town.

Great Stone Face Rock

Great Stone Face Rock is a natural outcrop which has long been the logo and symbol for the Town of Pennington Gap. Folklore says that the face was carved by Cherokee Indians honoring their chief at the time. The name of the Chief is unknown. Others believe that the face has evolved over time by wind and rain.

Leeman Field Recreation Park

Leeman Field Park was once the world’s largest enclosed ballpark (as recognized by the National Library of Congress for two and a half decades) and hosted Appalachian League Pennington Bears, a St. Louis Browns affiliate. Leeman Field is a core component of the town alongside a trout stocked river, the Welcome Center, full hook-up RV Park and Campground and Stone Mountain Trailhead.

Stone Mountain is Spearhead Trails' most challenging ATV trail system. Located in Lee County, you will find 34 miles of Blue and Black trails over 500 acres with two miles of designated single track for off-road bikes. You won't find any beginner trails on this system. The ride is vigorous and the views are unparalleled!
